Whether you’re court-ordered to attend or voluntarily seeking assistance our Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP) program is specifically designed to intervene with regards to intimate partner violence to assist with how to be in a relationship without the violence. Violence is viewed as learned behavior that is primarily motivated by a desire, whether conscious or unconscious, by the abuser to control the victim (Adams, 2003). It is seen as one of many forms of abusive behaviors chosen by abusers to have power and control over someone. The FVIP is a 90-minute weekly class for 24-weeks in a "IN-PERSON group setting class" following the approved Duluth Method standards ensuring quality treatment. The goal is to rehabilitate family violence offenders by holding them accountable, transform their way of thinking and prioritize victim safety while eliminating domestic violence and abuse.
